New York State law requires that students attending colleges in New York State must be
vaccinated or prove immunity to mumps, measles, and rubella (German measles). To comply with
the law, each student must present, at the time of application, one of the following for each
disease noted above:
• Proof that the vaccinations have been administered. One dose is required for mumps and
for rubella; two doses are required for measles. Proof must be in the form of a physician’s
or other licensed medical practitioner’s statement indicating the type of vaccinations received
and the dates of the vaccination.
• A medical exemption signed by a physician that immunization is medically contraindicated
because of illness or allergy.

Health and Counseling Services
Students who are experiencing health issues, should contact Rabbi Yosef Goldstein at
ygoldstein@ymhbh.com or 347-528-3660.
Students are served by doctors in the local community, the local Hatzolah ambulance team, and
local hospitals, if necessary. Counseling services are an important part of any school. Our school
does not have a formal counseling system. However, there are many faculty members available
to provide counseling and direction for our students. The Rosh Yeshiva and the faculty are also
available for informal guidance and consultation.
Students recognize the deep caring and concern of our staff and have articulated their awareness

of the availability of faculty and hanhallah to the students for assistance with any problems or
concerns that they might have.
Should the student be found to require outside professional help, the student and family will be
provided with a suitable recommendation.
